The National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Taraba State has nullified the election of a former acting governor of Taraba State, Sani Danladi, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Earlier in September, the same tribunal nullified the election of Bashir Marafa of the PDP and ordered INEC to return Yusuf Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress as elected.
This time, the candidate of the APC, Ali Sani, petitioned the tribunal seeking the cancellation of the April 11 election that returned the former acting governor as winner, arguing that the election did not conform with some provisions of the Electoral Act.
In the judgement, the tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct fresh election in more than 40 polling units in Taraba North Senatorial District.
After the tribunal approved the cancellation of collated results from 40 polling units yesterday, Mr. Sani has more than 9,000 votes ahead of Mr. Danladi.
