Tragedy stuck on Friday when four travellers lost their lives along the Calabar-Itu highway at Okurikang axis of the road in Odukpani local government area of Cross River State following the Calabar river overflowing its bank.
More than four kilometres of the highway were said to have been affected as a result of the flash flood said to have started in the early hours of the day.
The flood caused stampede on the road as hundreds of motorists could not navigate their way through the flood to continue on their journey.
