ASABA—Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, yesterday, said that the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, was at the vanguard of preparing Nigeria’s youths, who will guarantee better future for the country.
Okowa, at the closing ceremony of the orientation course for 2015 batch ‘B’ stream 11 corps members at Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state, said that the components of the orientation course would have exposed the corps members to a variety of skills, knowledge and experience that will equip them sufficiently to succeed in their future endeavours.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mr. Festus Agas, said: “It is heart warming to note that you responded to the dictates of the course with every sense of commitment and responsibility. The orientation course you have undergone lays the foundation for the other cardinal programmes of the scheme.”
Okowa told employers of labour not to reject corps members posted to their establishments but rather create the enabling environment for the young Nigerians to deliver the best stewardship that is capable of accelerating the development of the state.
